Special Pricing

Some of you have probably spotted the advertising on the various free and bargain book sites. Today is the last day and Quarter Share is being promoted by Free Kindle Books and Tips.

Michael Gallagher has been a fan for a while and has graciously added a link to his review to the advertising to lend his personal support to helping me out with this. If you’ve a mind to help spread the word on Facebook or Twitter or anywhere else you might be active, you can help me and help a fellow fan by giving today’s post a share, like, follow, whatever.

You might also find his daily promo’s interesting so feel free to subscribe. Every new subscriber he gets helps his reach and you’ll get access to some of the best new indie authors when their works go on sale.

He also tells me you can register for a Kindle Fire giveaway.

The free/99cent pricing goes back to normal Monday so … if you’ve a mind to grab the Kindle versions (which will be linked to the Whispersync from Podium when they’re produced, hint, hint), this is a good chance to do that.

Thanks!

  1. Thank you so much for the heads up! I picked up the first 4 (Quarter Share – Double Share) at what amounts to a flea market (So much added meaning for me when I read it) last Saturday.
Imagine my excitement when I could grab all 6 in your voice from podiobooks.com…. (which I did this morning when I read that they will soon be taken down) — I’m starting Double Share this morning — burned through the others at record speed this week — and was looking to find Captain’s Share and Owner’s Share to complete the “full set” of rankings (lol) I appreciate you posting this on your site for everyone, I now own them all from amazon as well…

Be encouraged in your writing — you have made us all feel like part of your “Lois style family” with your stories — and if you need to look in your “mirror” be encouraged the same way Ish encouraged Captain Harrison. You are an inspiration to us all!

My father-in-law is retired Coast Guard, and I love his stories about time on ship…believe it or not they mean even more after having read these.

  2. Wish I’d spotted it earlier, but I went ahead and posted on MobileRead for those who go there. I hope you get a bunch of new readers with this!

  3. In preparation for the audio version of your books via whispersync, I am trying out whispersync. I got a free version of Walden from Amazon and upgraded to have the audio as well for 99 cents. I opened the book on my Android tablet in the Kindle app and tapped the audio symbol. The audio began to download and after a bit of the download I tapped on the play button and it began to read at the place where I was in my reading of the ebook. It highlights the words as it reads along. The audio is much slower than my reading, but it’s great to be able to go back and forth.

The pricing is variable on the audio version and is pretty much in line with the cost of the ebook. I do not like the Audible format which is not compatible with Linux, but this is really nice. I don’t know if it will be possible to get this audiobook over to my audio player for the ease of having the tiny device, but I have to say that being able to switch between reading the print and listening to the audio is very, very nice.

  4. I’m listening to an Audible title that was a gift from Podium to let me hear what they do.

I listen on my phone because that’s the only device I’d ever listen on anyway.

I think there is a lot of potential for bringing new crew aboard with this. I HOPE there is, anyway. 🙂

Translating audible to something else appears to be relatively google-able.

    Just sayin.

    1. I shall google then. I’ve improved other things that way and never thought of this. Thanks.

    2. Dear Sir,

Really liked the 6 books but you left me hanging…

Didn’t like killing off the wife, but OK

Does he marry the rich girl Maloney, age difference isn’t that far off and she does like him?

Does she get the Company or is there a battle with Ames?

Do they find the SOB Red Herring?

Does he circle around and get back into DST and on the first ship as Captain or does he get a new ship or does he marry the Girl and get it all?

What Happens to the Body Guard girl?

I think you have enough for a Book 7 so don’t answer me here or in an email (I hate teasers)

The big problem I see is the title maybe “Corporate Exec or CEO” i.e I think he Should marry her…

Thanks for the stories and regards

Don of Fairfield CT (for now)

  5. I thought the hardest part of getting a book published was writing the book in the first place. But I’m getting the idea that the hard work starts after you turn the first draft into the editor…:-)

In Ashes born = another great book … Thanks Mr. Lowell

  6. Where can I buy a physical copy of my next fix of Ishmael? In Ashes Born, over here in the uk. The book does not appear to be available for sale on Amazon or can I order it from the US?????

      1. Then I will have to practice something that is extraordinarily difficult for me – just ask anyone who works for me – patience!

Seriously, everything that you’ve published was well worth the wait.

  7. Nathan thanks for all the great stories. Eagerly awaiting Milk Run. I check amazon daily. I think it would be awesome if you set up a preorder link so that obsessive readers like me can pay up front and just have the book auto download when it becomes available. I’m always tickled when an anticipated read hits my kindle library. Hope you are doing well and have a wonderful holiday.

  8. Best wishes for the turning of the year. The daylight will start getting longer.
Thank you for all the pleasure that your books have given me

  9. Dear Nathan – –
Don’t mean to preach but – – For many years I was an IT project manager in a very intense environment. I learned that I needed to be conservative in my commitments or my clients would eat me alive.

I worry about you!!! You are no longer the young struggling author looking for readership. You are a successful author with some fairly dedicated fans. I was surprised with all of your issues that you started talking about having books out in December – February – March – – – – – . Wow!!! talk about overload!!!

We your fans would be thrilled if you succeeded in getting a book out reliably every quarter or even twice a year!!. Please take all this pressure off of you!!! Set a date for one of your books for March and then work to meet that one deadline. I’m sure your health will improve with the reduction in stress. We your loyal fans will rejoice, looking forward to a firm release date and your continued good health.

Now I would love a new book a month for the next 6 months and the longer wait between books is stressful, especially when you leave Ish hanging as you tend to do. Please go into the new year with a more realistic set of expectations and deliverables and know that we your fans are rooting for you.

Hopefully this falls on rested ears and is taken in the spirit intended. We need you healthy and productive.
