Did you know that picking up and keeping a feather from a raptor such as a Sharp-Shinned hawk is a federal felony? Eagle, hawk, owl, even vultures. Felony. The law was intended to stop the trafficking in faked native American headdresses and the killing of raptors for the feathers, but like many well-intentioned laws is too heavy-handed.
