Your Shaman’s Tales are not space opera – they’re planetary romance. Your other Solar Clipper universe novels are space opera, more space opera than the MilSF that gets mistaken as space opera these days. But Shaman’s Tales are very much planetary romance, much like ERB’s Barsoom novels.
True!
Honestly, Quarter Share is my favorite followed by Ravenwood followed by South Coast. The order could change on any given day, but each of them started a great series! And any new reader should read that one first, so the link should be to one of them. I think Quarter Share gives the real flavor of the other two in what I would call “heart.” Quarter Share probably has that to a greater degree than the others and that could be because it was the first book and you may not have been so sure there would be another. I think Quarter Share grabs the reader who will read all three series. Later books may not do that. This is based on my first experience being listening to you narrate Quarter Share.
Thanks for that insight, Anita.
I wasn’t sure I could even write one, let alone the 6 that the Shares implied at the time.
