About

This is just a doodle, a way to use the time in my morning walk to reflect and capture my day-to-day activity.

Several people said that they’d love it if I’d just plug in a recorder and talk about whatever I wanted to talk about. They’d listen. When my doctor said, “Move it or lose it,” I figured I’d try it out and see what developed.

This is guaranteed to be raw, relatively low audio quality, and I’m not doing a lot of clean up on the files. What happens on the walk, goes onto the recording. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.

The main purpose is to give me that little added incentive to keep moving without adding another production layer on my day.

Thanks for joining me as I talk on my morning walk.

See my main portfolio site for more information about who I am and what I’m doing.

Nathan, thank you for posting your talks. I am working through my own “move it or lose it” with my doctor and I enjoy listening to you while I’m out on my own walk. Living in Minnesota I can relate to the snow days and the “too cold to walk days”. I’ve always enjoyed your books and your voice acting in your books and Abbey Hilton’s books. Please keep up the walks (recorded or not) you’re an inspiration! Thank you.

I just started listening to the podcast though I’m a long time fan. I want to thank you for providing me with motivation and all the valuable tips you provide for writers and life in general. Keep up the good work and good luck on your way to a thousand more and beyond.

I would like to be a beta reader. It will allow me to look at a novel from a different perspective and hopefully become a better reader, as well as getting a better understanding of the process. Thank you. Bob

Thank you for your wonderful books. As I am 65 years old and have been a avid reader (almost solely SciFi) for most of my life.
In my time I have read well over one thousand SciFi books. I have to say that, while I love E.E. Doc Smith’s and Andre Norton’s books, you are my favorite author.
I wait impatiently for your next book. I hope your writing continues to be important, satisfying and rewarding to you for a very long time – they certainly are to me.

I have to tell you that I just discovered your books after finishing “The Wizard’s Butler” which I very much enjoyed. I am delighted to find that you have another entire collection of stories to dive into. I must say I’m very glad that you ended up using that basement computer for writing. Thank you for the worlds that you’ve created. I’m eager to tour them.
