Something is seriously screwed up with this mic set-up. In spite of listening to a delightful podcast while I walked along, when it came time to record, apparently the headset wasn’t plugged in firmly and was not recording the mic. I suspect that because there was a lot of crackling and the audio became muffled when I put the phone in my pocket — and cleared up again after I took it out.
Sorry about that.

I’ll try to remember to talk about it again tomorrow but what I’ve got now isn’t listenable–the pops are painful and the voice is too faint to hear for 95% of it.
