Wi-Fi 6 is, like all of the higher frequency bands, a trade off between range and bandwidth. Ideally, you want wired, if you can arrange it. If not, you’ll probably want several Wi-Fi routers in repeater mode. Pay attention to channels, as well – there’s plenty of Wi-Fi monitor apps for Android that’ll show you what channels your neighbors are on.
As for the backup server, you might want to look at NextCloud, which gives you a GDrive/DropBox like experience, but storage on your local network. Get a couple of cheap 8TB drives, and you can store your password vaults, obsidian vaults, documents, household hardware manuals, etc, for fairly cheap. Of course, you can also just buy a NAS box for the turnkey solution – but that’s for the geeks who don’t want to learn how file sharing really works.
