Have you tried the Noobtown series by Ryan Rimmel? I think it might be to your liking. I just finished Jake’s MM3 and I caught up on All the Skills a few months ago. Noobtown is a lot more humorous and is best described as a vanilla adaptation of D&D into LitRPG. No card based magic here, but a fun ride IMO.
For a more sci-fi -ish LitRPG, try War Core by Dean Henegar. RTS game mechanics in a dungeon core setting with modern military sci-fi weaponry and tactics.
