I missed the target of August 1, but I’m on page 116 of 160 in the edits (yes, 160 pages of edits for a 500 page manuscript). I should be able to finish the edits today and then I need to format it.

As much as I cant wait and will still buy the book how many of these excuses would you have take when teachin especially from Graduate student or PHD Candidates.
Well, that sorta depends on the assignment.
My dissertation–which is the only real parallel here–took three years and had two false starts before I found the correct topic. The nature of that assignment–to write a book about a topic of your choosing–is an open-ended one. There is no deadline as such and the nature of the task leans more toward “right” than “now.”
So, yeah…These issues would not have been a problem.
After I just finished up this PCS move, I get a chance to sit back at a computer with Internet access. I had lost this feed with a transition from Google Reader to Feedly (that’s my excuse, at least), so I missed the recent posts here (SolarClipper.com was working, but not cross-posted). Now I’m very glad to say I’ve managed to buy both Double Share and Captain’s Share just now.
