October Fest

Well, shoot.

I hoped to have Owner’s Share ready to go today but it’s not there yet. I’ve got edits back on the first 500 pages of manuscript – that’s 2/3rds of it – but we’re still waiting on the last third. When I get it, we’ll publish the ebook as soon as possible on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, and iBook. The Apple store will lag behind by at least two weeks and probably more like four because they take forever to process stuff there.

And let me say thank you, again, to both of you who’ve purchased books on the iBook store.

Paperbacks are in process. Quarter Share is out and linked in on Amazon – finally. Half Share is on my desk and I work on marking that up while waiting for the remaining edits. It’s stupidly slow going but I can’t seem to hurry that work.

Audio work for Zypheria’s Call is hung up because there’s been too much noise around here of late. Between sump pumps, heavy equipment in the street, and just general family noise, I’m backed up on a lot of audio. ZC is only one of many pieces I need to move. I’m hoping that I’m going to be able to clear all that out by the end of October. I recognize that “hoping” isn’t “doing” but we’ll start small.

South Coast is next in line after Owner’s Share. Once that’s out – and the audio work for Zypheria’s Call is done – I can start pushing on new works.

I was going to wait until paperbacks were all in order before starting but I just can’t wait that long. If I don’t start pumping out some new work soon, I’m going to quit altogether. Grinding through this old stuff is sapping my will to live. All you people who are jonesing for paper, sorry. I’ll get it as soon as I can but my sanity requires me to do something besides grinding backlist.

I may have to co-opt NaNoWriMo and push a book out there just to get my head screwed back on. If so, I’ll apologize in advance for the delays that protect my sanity. 🙂

New works on the schedule
Book 3 of Tanyth Fairport Adventures: The Hermit of Lammas Wood. (This year if I can get my butt in gear)
Book 2 of Shaman Tales: Cape Grace (This year if I can get my butt in gear)
Three new books from the Golden Age that feature Ishmael (2014)
Three new books from the Golden Age that do not feature Ishmael (2014)

I think that’s about it for now. If you have a question that I haven’t answered, leave it in the comments and I’ll address it.

Flood Waters…

If you’ve seen the news, you’ve seen the flooding that’s surrounding my home. We have not suffered any damage personally, but people all around the area are still trying to find missing loved ones, to say nothing of assessing the damages. Roads are gone. Houses are gone. Crops are destroyed. Simple things like getting an automobile repaired will be taking days instead of hours because major highways connecting cities have been taken out. Getting a part from Denver this week isn’t as easy as it was last week.

In theory I’ve got a book coming out in October. I need to get the edits back and get them into the files. With the disruption across the state, that may not happen as expeditiously as we’d all like. I haven’t heard from my editor (another Colorado resident) but I’m assuming we’ll get moving as soon as we’re able.

Stay tuned and I’ll keep you posted as the situation develops.
