We’re not quite there, but the next time I blink it’ll be July so I figured I better drop in with an update.
Things are moving albeit slowly.
Milk Run got a shot in the arm with the publication of the short story – Exile – in the Starbound anthology and then took a dive when I realized I had a great set up and no where to go. I’ve been cogitating and I think it’s bearing fruit. We’ll see. I’m trying to trust the process that has worked in the past. Just slinging words down only seems to work when I’m ready to sling them. Apparently I’m not quite ready.
I started walking again a few days ago. My legs are complaining so I’ve taken today off but expect to be back on the road tomorrow. I need to get the body moving again after what’s been a terribly long and spotty winter. Fingers crossed and you can keep any eye open on Talking On My Morning Walk to see how well I do. One pattern I’ve noticed is that my emotional state improves when I walk regularly and that generally translates into ‘more words.’ I plan to test that theory going forward.
That’s it for now. I’ll keep you posted as things develop.
Lash yourself to the mast captain and weather the storm….then make best possible speed to port. There are many of us who are eagerly waiting on the docks for cargo in the hold (smugglers tales 1 and seekers 2). It was aggravating waiting for the next episode of a story on podiobooks, and gratifying when they arrived…Waiting for whole books is killing me. That being said, we all also realize the creative juices must age a little until they reach perfection. Thanks captain for numerous laughs, a few tears, and lots and lots if anticipation!
I hope things are continuing to improve for you.
There is no law saying Smuggler must follow Seeker i.e. Cape Grace. Maybe you need Seeker part2 to forge your way into toe hold space.
I really don’t think anyone would mind getting another dose of Ish and Pip first. You really seem to like writing about Captain Wang;)
I need smuggler 1 so I know where Seeker 2 is going.
It’s coming along.
Hi Nathan,
I just purchased 3 of your latest eBooks on Amazon, and had to return them. As someone whose experiencing issues with identity theft, I just find the Kindle very unsafe. I was looking forward to a good read but I just have too many concerns with how the Kindle has a direct line to my credit card that I can’t cut or limit in any way. I know your books are available only at Amazon. Hopefully one day soon, it won’t be the case.
Long time fan
Many people with this concern are able to put it to rest by authorizing the kindle device with an Amazon gift card instead of the credit card.
Until/unless the KDP infrastructure makes itself unteneble – or the Kobo ecology actually begins to gain traction – I’ll be all-in with Amazon for a while.
Sorry. As much as I’d like to spread the love, I have to pay the bills and none of the other platforms generated sufficient revenue.
I can say that Florida, even for a limited time, is an excellent alternative to anywhere that has “a terribly long and spotty winter.”
After thirty years in North Dakota and 24 in Minnesota, I can tell you that every morning is a delight down here, Sar. Wish I’d have moved a long time ago.
When might we see smuggler 1?
Any chance you’re ever going to do an audio version of “in Ash is born”? I’ve gotten so used to your narration reading it just isn’t the same. Speaking for myself I would happily pay double the price for an audio.
Finished all my other books. Need a new Solar Clipper novel.
Don’t we all. 🙂 But good things take time, and the writer needs to work his craft. Though I admit to a desire to see what Smuggler 1 has for us.
