I realized (a week or so ago) that I forgot to post for October. Just as well, there wasn’t much to say.
Where are we now?
– Podium has released To Fire Called for Audible.
– Suicide Run is being difficult. I think I’m past the worse of it. Look for it to release before the end of the year.
– All the Tanyth Fairport books are still in production for Audible. Don’t know what the delivery date on that will be. I’ll let you know when they’re available.
– Paperbacks pending for: South Coast, To Fire Called, Milk Run (this list is getting longer, darn it. I wanted them all available by Christmas but that’s looking less likely right now.)
No, I still will not be reading my own work. I’m barely able to find the focus to get new stuff out and don’t want to commit more time outside of “write the next book.” I know it’s disappointing. It’s disappointing to me, too, but I’m doing the best I can with what I have.
I’ll be in Colorado Springs for COSine in January and in Austin, TX, for the Smarter Artists Summit in February. There was talk of an invitation to Salt Lake City sometime this winter, but I haven’t heard whether or not that’s going to bear fruit.
That’s what I know (or feel comfortable projecting) right now. I’m still here. I’m still writing. Stay tuned.
Safe Voyage.
Skipper, I can’t imagine having the skills and drive to do what you do! Deep breath, we will wait.
I used to have a vocal coach and she always told me never to apologize to my audience. Yes it’s nice to get updates, but your stories will keep us coming back for more. I just wanted to say thank you for Ishmael’s stories. My mom and I would read them and have quite the discussion about them to the point where my brother’s started reading them. We are all fans and look forward to the next installment.
I love the solar slipper series. I think to date I have read the entire set of so far published works 5 times and I am amazed at how I still look forward to the dialogue. I enjoy the characters, you have given them personalities. I check back often to see when the next release will be. Kelly and I are looking forward to our next discussion on Suicide Run.
Safe travels.
Keep sailing Captain… We are here and are not going anywhere. We love your stories and truly savor them when they arrive, but they will be here when they get here and not before. If I don’t comment again this year.. I hope you and yours have a wonderful holidays.
Cheers Capt’n
I am reading Golden age for the 4th time. Husband on his 3rd. Can’t wait for the next. I always seem to re-read the series just before the next book due. I love the south coast shaman series as well as I have had some training in shamanism and love to see how sometimes the everyday can be so mystical. Keep on bring such wonderful books out. And thank you
I have been looking for the next books in either series Smugglers Tales, and Seeker. You’ve left both of them with pregnant endings 😉 TBH, there are very few clues as to where you are taking the girls next. Milk run was awesome but it left them with a lead in to become a courier/light cargo service.
Seeker, was almost the perfect intro to spy-vs-spy stuff. I am perishing for the lack of more reveal in both.
I sent the six Trader series books to my college age grandson, but my son is the one who read them. We were recently talking about Ish and his propensity to do the unexpected. He said, “What would Ish do?” is now a thought that sometime informs a moment.
Thank you.
Thank you for the update (and very glad you are still here)! Please know we will wait for the next books: your health is more important. Keep breathing, and take one step at a time. We will be here…
Just a quick note to thank you — your Solar Clipper novels were pointed out by a reviewer several days ago and I have been binge-reading them ever since! They’re delightful, some of the most enjoyable SF I have encountered in years.
Please keep us updated on if you’ll be in Salt Lake City this winter. Not the best drive in the cold of winter, but one I’d happily make if given the chance to meet and shake your hand.
I haven’t heard anything about this for a long time, so I’m just gonna ask. Is Cape Grace going to appear? I’d love to hear Sarah Krugg’s story. It would make the Solar Clipper universe just the more fascinating. Thanks for listening.
Safe Voyage,
Bob
