Happy Birthday, Ishmael

Today will be Ishmael Wang’s birthday in the future.  To celebrate I released the latest Smuggler’s Tale a couple of days ago. That’s the last of them, at least for now. It’s not the end of Natalya and Zoya. We’ll see them again in the future.

This month I’m getting on track to get the next Seeker’s Tale out. I’ve already started scoping out By Darkness Forged and I’m aiming for a very short turn around. How short depends on a lot of things so I’m not going to give out any dates other than “as soon as I can make it happen.”

Also tap this month are two long-overdue projects.

  • An omnibus edition of the first three “Share” books. I don’t expect fans to re-buy them but I wanted to help new fans catch up by making those three titles into a single book for the KU folks.
  • The paperback version  of To Fire Called.

Audio is still in the pipeline. It’ll be coming. I just don’t know when.

And with that, raise a mug of whatever you’re drinking to the fictional character of the hour, Captain Ishmael Horatio Wang.

See you next month, crew.

Safe voyage.

  1. Hi Nathan,

This is great news. I’m working through the Share series for the second time and finding Captains brilliant but very poignant. I just popped over here on the off chance of an update and am very pleased to read your post. I eagerly await By Darkness Forged.

Congratulations on finishing the Smugglers. I’ve been saving these but maybe now is the time.

    Best wishes.

  2. Outstanding and congratulations! I just started re-listening to my Podiobooks copies, from the beginning, this week. My best wishes for health and happiness to you and your family.

  3. I inhaled Home Run last night. Wonderful. It was fun to have that glimpse of Pip. Thank you.
Now to do my first reread.
I am awed by all the engineering you had to create – totally believable ‘new’ ship concept, the prefabs etc … (trying not to do spoilers).

  4. Don’t start reading late!!! It was four a.m. when I closed my Kindle with at least 25 percent to go and went to bed. And now it’s done and the long wait begins for the next one! Love these books. Will try to be patient waiting for the next one. Good job on this one!

  5. Happy birthday Ishmael Horatio Wang!
    Loved Home Run!
Started recognizing some of the characters names towards the end : ) love them too!
Thank you so very much for such a good space! My heart “sings”.

  6. Hone run was literally a hone run. What a way to finish…fit now I hope, I outstanding setues!! I have ideas about the girls future but I’ll keep the to myself.. And Happy Birthday Ish!! Keep up the great work Mr. Lowell. I’m personally hoping for South coast Shaman in the future. Thanks again

  7. Just finished Home Run. Well done, Mr. Lowell, well done. Totally satisfying and possibly your best writing to date. (That’s hard to tell for sure, because they are all outstanding.) now the wait begins.

  8. When is Pip’s birthday? All your books are extremely enjoyable reads, but I especially like the ones where Ish and Pip are together.

  9. Wow, happy intended birthday Ishmael. I just re-read milk run and suicide run over the last couple of days and thought, well what should I read now, might as well check in on my favorite author. Lucky lucky me home run is out, now that’s timing!

  10. Just like Ish not to mention to anyone that he only just turned 18 less than 2 weeks prior to his mum’s flitter crash.

  11. Just finished Home Run and it was outstanding. I usually finish your books in one day, but I didn’t want the story to end. Patiently waiting for By Darkness Forged. Will there be a second South Coast book?

  12. I just finished reading the share series starting with quarter share for the 8th time getting ready for the new ish book and have read homerun twice already. as you can imagine i am a huge fan of your books. wish you could crank them out quicker but i suppose the waiting adds to my fanship. get crackin captain haha.
